Terms of Service

1. The Service

MarginLane is a finance operations tool that helps service businesses track cash flow, project and milestone revenue, expenses, resource cost, and sales-channel performance. The Service is provided for business use. MarginLane is not a bank, payment processor, accounting firm, or tax/financial advisor, and nothing in the Service is financial, legal, or tax advice.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for the data you and your team members add to your workspace.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
• interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service;
• resell or provide the Service to third parties without our written consent.

4. Plans, subscriptions, and billing

The Service offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan (see our Pricing page for current features and prices). Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with notice, effective on your next renewal.

5. Merchant of Record (Paddle)

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

This means your purchase is a transaction with Paddle as the reseller. Paddle handles payment processing, billing, invoicing, applicable taxes (e.g. VAT/GST/sales tax), and payment-related support. We never receive or store your full card or banking details. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Conditions.

6. Free trial

New workspaces include a 60-day Pro trial with no card required. When the trial ends, the workspace reverts to the Free plan unless you upgrade. Your data is never deleted by a trial ending.

7. Refunds and cancellation

Cancellation and refunds are described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Your data

You retain ownership of the business and financial data you enter. You grant us a limited licence to host and process that data solely to provide the Service. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property rights to you.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figures, reports, or calculations are suitable for accounting, tax, or legal purposes. You are responsible for verifying your own financial records.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service unlawfully. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; we may delete your data after a reasonable period.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Court and tax obligations relating to payments are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
